Congrats to R2 admits!

By now all the R2 admits have received their offers, congratulations!! It's great to see the number of admits jump up! The first thing I did was to check what countries people come from. The class is getting more and more diverse!

Some other interesting statistics
- the current
female share among admits is 29%, a great improvement compared to recent years (and decades, obviously)! LBS seems to be approaching US levels. I believe it's thanks to the generous women scholarships offered by LBS and several investment banks!

- Surprisingly enough, the number of admits has only jumped by +88, while there were 140 admits initially in R1. I always thought R2 was the biggest round? What happened? Update: Apparently it took a while to include all admits into the directory. In fact, the number of admits in R2 was around 220 vs. 140 in R1.

- It seems though that about 40 admits from R1 never paid the commitment fee so the number of R1 admits as shown on the portal is down to 100. On the one hand, the yield of 71% in R1 doesn't sound good for LBS. Or is this good? I don't really have a comparison.

Work is crazy at the moment so I don't have much to write much on here, but I look forward to meeting everyone at the admits weekend in May and I'm counting down the days till August 28th!

Thanks for the congrats.
I will post in a couple of days my thoughts about Tuck and LBS...
Let me ask you a favor, please leave a comment if you see something to add in my decision.

Hello!

I've been accepted R2 but haven't received my student portal login info yet. I think many admitted students haven't received the email yet, so that's probably why not all admitted students are showing up on the portal.

Do you have details on the admits weekend ?

No details apart from the fact that it takes place on May 21/22. I guess dinner on Friday and then activities and speeches and parties Saturday/Sunday, sounds like it will be lots of fun! Will you come?

Hi Everyone!

Congrats to all R2 admits. Great job

Great analysis on the yield numbers Angel!

The only data I want to add is about The Waitlist. I do not know the exact figures for London, but informal polls show that H & S put one person in waitlist for every 2 admits in round 1 and 2. That makes a huge number of people waitlisted!

Good luck if you have been waitlisted.

On another shameless self-promoting level:

My blog is finally available to everyone. Check it out at Patxi @ London Business School and read about my MBA!

I'll be at the Admits weekend. Let's all meet up!

Benny, there is a section on the admits weekend on the latest LBS newsletter.. it just gives the date.

Hey Patxi, no worries I will put a link to your blog on my right tomorrow or so, as soon as I have time, was just waiting for you to go "live".

wamie, you were right, in fact the number of total admits is now 317 (plus the 40 who already declined the offer in R1). The class is growing!

Hey Angie,

Your Blog certainly makes for great reading and very informative. I am awaiting my interview results for R4 at LBS. Just wondering if you had any idea about how many seats are left to be filled and how many R4 applicants?

Thanks

Hey Angie,

I was wondering if you could tell me if the range for the number of years of work experience given in the LBS website is the full range or the middle 80%. Thank you!
